Antimicrobial Activity of Pulicaria Species from Turkey
نویسندگان
چکیده
Objective: In traditional medicine, the Pulicaria species are used for various disorders such as inflamed wounds, skin diseases, and bronchitis. This study investigated antibacterial effect of five in Turkey; (Pulicaria (P) arabica (L.) Cass., P. dysenterica Bernh., odora Reichb., sicula Moris, vulgaris Gaertn.) against certain significant pathogenic gram-negative gram-positive reference bacteria. Material Method: Four extracts (decoction, infusion, aqueous, ethanol (EtOH) extracts) were prepared from species. The antimicrobial activity samples was examined organisms; Bacillus (B) subtilis, Enterococcus faecalis, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus (S) aureus (MRSA), Proteus mirabilis, S. Pseudomonas aeruginosa. minimal bactericidal concentration (MBC) minimum inhibitory (MIC) ranges extract demonstrated based on a microbroth dilution method. Results: EtOH studied four found to be weakly active bacteria B. MRSA but showed exceptionally good strains aureus, MRSA. No detected decoction, aqueous extracts. Conclusion: species, especially could evaluated agents. Further studies with essential oils sp. other fungi should performed.

Antimicrobial Activity of Five Endemic Asperula Species from Turkey
In this study, methanol and ether extracts of five endemic Asperula species (Rubiaceae) from Turkey (A. antalyensis, A. brevifolia, A. pseudochlorantha, A. purpurea subsp. apiculata and A. serotina), used in the traditional system of medicine, were tested for antimicrobial activity by the agar well diffusion method and the broth dilution method. The most active species were Asperula brevifolia ...

متن کاملAntimicrobial Activity of Pulicaria Dysenterica L.
Three extracts of Pulicaria dysenterica were examined for antibacterial activity using the agar disk-diffusion method against six bacterial strains. Some of these extracts were found to be active against some bacterial strains. The methanolic extract exhibited a superior level of antibacterial activity. All of the extracts were active against Vibrio chlorea.
